Best & Worst of The Golden Globes - 2015

 Best Dressed 2015 Golden Globes

JLo seems to be the overall winner for this category. She really can go major glam without looking overdone - a talent many don't have. This look channels her famous green robe look from the 2000 Grammies.

This dress was an either/or for me - I could see many people feeling less than enthused over the structured material - however, I think the trend is fresh and the color combo is perfect.

Oh Kate, you are my girl! She looks fabulous - as usual. Love her neutral palette while playing up the bejeweled top.

Heidi stuns in red - Classy choice.

This is on the best list because I think its appropriate for the time of year - most of these dresses, as beautiful as they are, are more fit for summer/spring occasions - whereas, Kelly's is perfectly winter.

She really stood out last night in this bright piece. I couldn't take my eyes off her when she was presenting or the camera would pan her way - she looks classic in this shape and the color really 'wow's'

Yes, that is a man - a really, really pretty man. The gown is beautiful! I love the color and style.

This is so luxurious! She looks like she took a bath in jewelry - I love the heavy feel this dress has.

Her skin, her face, her hair, her dress, she is literally flawless on this night. Everything just works.

Another stunning yellow! I love this color in general and it looks gorgeous on this olive skin.

Leave it to Emma to shock us with an entrancing pantsuit. She is always the one to take a risk and it happens to always work out for her - I love this look and how it helped her to stand out among a sea of ball gowns.

Anna looks amazing in this dress - her skin tone compliments the color of the dress perfectly.

 Worst Dressed 2015 Golden Globes

Ugh - I hate to do this because I love her but I do not get this dress at all. It looks comfy? Like a cross between a wedding dress and a night gown. Bummer.

What the what? The cut of this dress is so awkward - it does not favors for her body.

This got a lot of good attention - for me, however, I find it a little too much. Kate is classy and this dress just isn't.

Not my favorite - Amy's petite frame is completely lost in this royal blue number.

Well hello Morticia Adams. I think she might be wearing her Halloween costume.

This reminds me of a bad bridesmaid dress.
The best thing about it is you never have to wear it again.

No No No No No!! Why?
Just when I thought she could do no wrong she comes out in her 1950's Moo-Moo.

Mermaid look gone wrong - another Halloween costume I presume.

And again with the bad bridesmaid dress alive from the dead! This dress in a different material would probably have gotten bumped up to the previous section ...but the way it is - ick.

It isn't horrible, it isn't great either - it's just kind of BLAH. For such a young, new star - you would think she could take a little more risk.

How To Wear Sequin Pants

Just in time for the holidays, or more specifically, New Years Eve - I have the 'how to' guide on the latest trend, Sequin Pants.

1. Go Peplum

This look would be best for an evening out, whether going to a fancy wedding, or ringing the new year in - Stay with a neutral color - black or white seem to work with most sequin pants - pair with some simple heeled sandals and you are ready to go!

2. Go Monochromatic

\
Sticking with a color in different variations is a safe way to play down the sequin pants look. Above you will see two casual outfits that stay in the gray color family.

3. Word Play

Graphic T's with words on them are a big trend right now. Using a casual t-shirt with text is another way to keep in trendy, yet casual. Go for a kitten heel to take it up a notch - or flats to have a more rocker-vibe.

4. Be Cozy

Although I recommend staying away from any prints on the top - the 2nd photo above pulls off the look with a festive holiday feel. Be careful when choosing a print - do not pick one that is to big or too busy. Sweaters can make the look polished, or comfortable. If you have great legs, and oversized sweater may be a perfect selection, if more of a pear shape - Stick with a fitted, but longer sweater.

5. Complimenting Color

Using the mauve pink with the navy is a risky combination that paid off! Play around with different soft tones that resembles neutrals to get a safe look without sacrificing color. Also, a fun way to add color is the go black or white on top - with a fun color in the shoe. Pantone color this year, seen above, is wine!

5. Blazers

Blazers can dress up the sequins without looking losing your professionalism. Now, MAYBE you work for a company where this would be a totally awesome look for the holiday party...maybe not. Use your judgement on that one - but like me, I love a good blazer and pairing one with sequin pants is a classy/festive look for any occasion.

6. Bustier Top

This is my favorite look which I will use to inspire my New Years Eve 2015 look. A neutral bustier paired with a blazer or sweater and pumps is a simple, yet elegant look with the sequin pants. This is also good for pear shapes as the long sweater/blazer helps disguise wider hips.
