So, I threw a Halloween Party....

...and it was LEGEND....
wait for it.....

Here you can see my tablescape. I love the word tablescape.
Anyway, I've got Deviled Eggs that look like Pumpkins and Spiders
And Jumbo Mummy Dogs
Carmel Apple Dip with Toppings
(Granny Smith Apples sliced on skewers, Carmel dip, Pecans (chopped) and mini choc chips)
Shrunken Head Punch - link goes to how to make the shrunken heads
^ Punch: Cranberry Cocktail + Champagne + Citrus Vodka + Apple Cider - this was amazing and you just have to mix to taste - it was VERY strong but didn't taste strong at all! I know I used a whole bottle of champagne but everything else was just added to taste.
Pumpkin Puking Guac (see last pic)
and then just some candy corn, cookies, gummie worms, etc.
You know the drill....

I was a Robot - Patrick was a Mad Scientist (see below)

Florals for Spring

As I am sure this is no surprise to anyone - Florals are big this spring. Not with just a dress or scarf - but bright, bold, and large florals are popping up all over the place - below are some ways to wear!

My favorite addition to my closet will be the floral jacket - this one (above) is prefect for April showers

I love this outfit! I tried to find this jacket online, no luck! Similar versions can be found at sheinside.com or XXI

Here is a feminine, smaller print that goes oh-so-nicely with this pale teal.

Loving the edgy touch on the moto-jacket.

Ok, so if this post is totally reminding you of your Grandmother's couch - I understand...try to have an open mind, after-all, especially in fashion - we know history tends to repeat itself.

The Horror!!

Now back to prettier things....

Floral dresses are always big in spring and summer - I guess the difference this year is the brightness and boldness of the print.

and if you are still weary of this look - go for a floral scarf - easy.

...and if you are the more daring type - these babies are ah-mah-zing.

Hope you enjoyed! Let me know your thoughts.

Favorite Foodie Pins I Have Tried

Okay so we all pin a million and one things onto our Pinterest board and then we hardly ever look back at them! I have selected a few recipes that I have actually TRIED and LIKED!

Here is my review:

Philly Cheese Steak Stuffed Peppers
I made these recently, I wanted to make Patrick Philly Cheese Steaks for dinner one night but I wanted to make myself a healthy version. They were delicious. Only thing is, the pepper took a while to warm - I put the steak, onion and cheese mixture and put into the pepper, then popped the whole thing into the oven - by the time the cheese was melted - the pepper was still mildly cool and I wanted it piping hot! So I would probably warm that puppy up in the oven before hand so you are not gnawing on raw pepper with your cheesesteak.

Cajun Shrimp Avocado Cracker
This is phenomenal - I've made this twice and both times were big hits. However, the most recent time I made it, it was for a evening party - and I made it mid-day - well, you guessed it, avocado was brown by the time it was served, and although delicious - it was just a bit unappealing looking.

Golf Course Cupcakes
I made this for Patricks Birthday last year - and it was a great success! A lot of work - but fun work! You can choose whichever cupcake flavor you'd like - I chose Funfetti because thats Patricks favorite... his second favorite being Red Velvet, which would look like a pretty weird golf course.

Apple Peanut Coconut Chip Snack
These are a nice little snack when you are craving something sweet. Apple, Peanut Butter, Sweetened Coconut Flakes, Pecans, Chocolate Chips and Peanut Butter Chips (optional)
So Delicious and Easy!

Apricot Brie Stuffed Crescent
YUM! So good as well - I severed it with crackers and apples and grapes - the crackers were easiest to eat with but they were really unneeded due the the crescent roll wrapping. Only tip, it takes longer than you think to cook the dough all the way through when there is cheese inside - and do not expect it to come out as pretty as that picture ^

Honey Dijon Pretzel Crusted Chicken
This was my most recent adventure - and frankly it was pretty simple - and not too many ingredients to deal with! It was heavy and filling  - something to make rare...also, probably something 5-10 yr olds would like. Yummy but definitely not going to make too often. Also, instead of making the dipping sauce on the side - I coated the chicken in a dijon mustard and honey mix, then rolled it into crushed Pretzels.

Cucumber Crab Cups
I made these for a party - mistake #1 - trying to make my own crab dip instead of using store bought. It was hard to find good crab meat so I ended up with imitation crab = yuck! It just was a weird consistency. Next time I make this, and there will be a next time, I will buy store-made tuna salad or chicken salad and plop it in there - add my own paprika and green onions on top - and call it a day!

Easy Healthy Whole Wheat Pasta
So this is Whole Wheat Pasta with breadcrumbs, lemon juice, parsley, salt and pepper. Can I just say its awesome? Its so delicious! and not a fattening creamy sauce. I have made this several times.

Please feel free to email me any questions you may have - or if you would like the recipe!

Thanks for coming by everyone - I am extremely pleased to see how many people are coming to my site daily - its a great feeling that you enjoy my photos and ideas, and well, my life! So Thanks =)
Here are my Friday Favorite Pins of the Week:

Who thinks to put red and teal together? - Not I - until I saw this post, that is. I love it - Now that I saw, I am obsessed - and tying it in with a nice relaxed white blazer? uhhh perf.

Okay this is a great DIY - these are goodwill lamp posts that were that horrible brasses color - now spray painted with fresh colors - transformed! They look awesome and this couldn't be easier to do!

Could this really be true? I must try!

So Summery - and this will never go out of style. A classic.

I can't really explain what I love so much about ampersand - but I love them a lot! This bracelet is so delicate and cute - I must find it and own it ;)

This is a great blog - they give 4 different summer drinks - all low calorie!!

Like this yum-yum Beer-Margarita:

Friday Favorite Pins!

Hello and Happy Friday to all! What does everyone have on the agenda for this weekend? Tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful here - 75 and sunny! I am getting my tan on ;) Tonight we are having a little dinner party at my aunts house - I am going to make my cucumber caprese salad - That is cucumber, tomato, and fresh mozzarella with olive oil and balsamic drizzle - easy enough!

On Saturday (after my sunbathing) we have a beer tasting party to attend - I might have mentioned it in a previous post, but basically everyone brings either a 6-pack (all of one kind or one of those cool make-your-own 6 pack mix and match) and throughout the party the host gives everyone a 1 oz pour into a cup and tells us about the beer. I am not a beer enthusiast by any means but I think it could be fun!

Here are this weeks - Favorite Pins!

Ok now this really speaks to me! I am so not a math person - definitely as right brained as I can get... I am sure many professions include algebra - but not mine! =) Not ever!

...need I say more? (Michael Kors)

I love Nautical - what a fun mixed print outfit for summer - makes me want to go on a boat

Hello YUM! Patrick would llloove this! and it looks pretty easy too! I guess you want to get a small cake pan and bake 5-6 mini cookie cakes - then add creaminess in-between and stack!

All that glitters!! I love this spring idea - Im not sure I would do a color - or at least this teal - but i love the gold and the simplicity of the baby's breathe - so fresh!

She is so gorg! I cant get over her outfit and how great of print mixing she did! I love love love this! and love her!!

Well thats it guys! Thanks for stopping by and come tomorrow for your must have beach look!

Friday Fav Pins of the Week!

Hello Lovelies! Happy Friday - I just got to NY/NJ for the Easter Holiday at my future in laws house - whoo-wee are we exhausted!

We had quite a morning - Waking up at 3am, getting on plane at 530a (delayed until 610am) get to DC - had 10 mins before boarding next flight (**bonus - leg number two we got first class - and that was fabulous!) I tried a Bloody Mary for the first time on the plane - note to all: if you are going to try a Bloody Mary for the first time - don't get it on a plane ride, get it homemade by someone who knows what they are doing =) After arriving in NY we had to get on a bus that took for-ev-er!!!!!! We took the bus around picking up other folks - got dropped off in Grand Central, got on another bus that picked up more people - finally dropping us at Newark to be picked up by Patrick's Mom and driven 40 mins back to her house in NJ. 9 hour traveling day anyone? We might has well gone to Europe in that amount of time!

None-the-less we are now at our final destination, and although tired, we are happy to be here and looking forward to what the weekend has to bring us! Stay Tuned!

Now - for my Friday Favorite Pins of the Week:

I love bright yellow/neon yellow with nude/tan!!! I cant get enough - its my favorite color combo and these girls nailed it. I luckily already have the clothing to complete these looks so I am on it (as soon as it warms up)

Love this saying <3 Its so true - right?!

YUM! Great quick and easy dinner idea for two =) Although, Patrick would not like all the veggies involved; I sure would!

Okay -- Besides being completely adorable - I totally understand how this pup feels! I need the sun!! Where is it?????

I liked this exhibit - I found it really interesting and to be a great idea! I want to be able to get measured on this wall! Its called Measuring the Universe by Slovakian artist Roman Ondák. It's considered performance art because patrons that attend the museum actually get to be the ones measured - name, height and date measured - what a cool idea!
