DENY Designs by Target

Target does it again - - blows our mind.

DENY Designs by Target is a collection of home decor items that are bright, colorful and fun. Ranging from pillows, shower curtains, throw blankets, to mirrors, clocks, and trays - nearly everything in the collection is fabulous. Perfect gift for anyone - and overall, gives me that 'Urban Outfitters' vibe. Prices aren't bad either.

DENY is a company based out of Denver, CO, that empowers their customers to transform dull, everyday household accessories into fun and original statement pieces by adding a personal image - that's right. Go to www.denydesigns.com and you can actually make your own. However, Target has some great options.

I'm in love with this shower curtain! Thinking of getting in pillow form for meself.

Wine Tasting Party

To celebrate my new apartment I decided to have a Wine Tasting / Housewarming Shindig! It went splendidly - We had so much fun using the wine tasting sheets and rating the wine. Here are a few shots from the party.

I greeted my guests with prosecco (a great palate cleanser!) and then I chose 5 bottles of wine - two white and 3 red - all different prices, regions and varietals.

I will be posting the recipe for this Fig Mascarpone Crostini tomorrow!

Wasabi Almonds, Pecans, Granny Smith Apples and Proscuitto wrapped Melon Balls!

Any questions feel free to message me!

(Partial) House Tour!

Hello! Welcome to my (partial) Home Tour! I just moved 5 weeks ago so it's not completely finished but here is what I have so far! Living Room & Kitchen:

So I went with Teal as my accent walls - I know that is very loud but it came out great. Since it's an apartment - I feel I am not married to the color (not that you are in a house) but at least I have a lease that is up and if I am sick of teal by then, I can start over with a new palette at the next place.

Please know that the pictures are horrible! I took them with my phone - which usually turns out fine, but the coloring is all weird and some are rather blurry. Brownie points to anyone that can identify what I am watching on Tv!

My most recent (as of last week) project is this coffee table decor that I so adore! Everything shown is from Target and TJMaxx and Crate & Barrel - with the exception of the books, which were gifts!

The Tray itself is from TJMaxx/Homegoods - it was $22 and its BIG - mirrored with this beautiful map sketch type design - it right brightens up the wood coffee table.

This is hung above the TV - its artwork I bought from IKEA! Its picasso sketches - one of my favorite things in the house ($30)

Another recent purchase - I got a wild hair one night a ran to Target because I decided I need an accent chair immediately! This guy was $160 at Target - and the metal table next to it was only $40! I love the color and design.

Another grainy photo =( This is my sofa table behind my gray IKEA couch  - Just wanted to feature this for my lovely little golden puppy (favorite things) and my glass base with burlap shade lamp - both Homegoods finds!

...and now onto the Kitchen! The teal carries over- and that big wine framed photo is from Kirklands - litterally, $18 bucks! - and its HUGE!

Here's the other side of Kitchen - If you follow me on instagram, you will notice (another fav) my framed art above the sink 'The Morning has broken and the Coffee has Spoken!" love it - Another cheapy from Kirklands.

More to come!

Porches, Patios, and Outdoor Spaces

From the tent, to the lights, to the beautiful chandelier  - this is a dream patio for me.

What a perfect set for a small apartment patio - I love high tops - if this isn't from Ikea - I know Ikea has something just like it!

Another dream porch!! fireplace? love!

This is my current inspiration for my patio - Patrick found a great deal on craigslist.com for a patio/bistro set that a couple was selling since they were moving - I took chartreuse spray paint and painted the table base (glass top untouched of course) My chairs are a dark brown, and I am still up in the air about whether or not to touch them - opinions?? anyone??? I also have a chartreuse pillow by Ralph Lauren that seems to go just splendidly!

Black and White Patio of Perfection =)

These are what my patio chairs currently look like (so if you can give me your two cents of whether to paint them - this is a good frame of reference) Anyway - I just love this table - and its another great example of what you can do with a little apartment patio space.

Keeping in the theme of small and black and white - this is cute, clean and easy.

Look at that bed swing - how comfy!

Very eclectic - i like!

I saw this on Better Homes & Gardens - I love the idea of adding an outdoor rug to tie in the space - I will keep my eyes open!

Love the colors! So inviting - and I cant help wonder what a big letter would look like on our patio - love it!

Pretty lights - small space - mixed chairs - great patio.

A little oasis in the city - love the comfort of it all - and the use of plants to really add nature into an otherwise urban setting.

OOOh I love this - cant get enough of these large/couch-like porch swings - and the colors and pillows are right up my alley.

Living Room Makeover!!

So recently I have been itching to do something new to my house, specifically  - the living room. Everything is so dark and warm - I needed a refresher for summer! I was on a tight budget so I wanted to work mostly with what I had.

Here is the BEFORE:

Here is the AFTER:

I had these large striped pillows on the patio - and after a good wash, I decided to remove the back cushion of the couch and add these pillows - not only is it nice to throw a pattern in to mix it up - but it also makes the couch A LOT more comfy!

I took some mason jars and poured paint into them - then swirling them around created an inside half paintjob - Looking back I may wanted to not go as high as I did, but I still like them. Please excuse my almost dead flowers =(    - Do you like my couch model?

I took my floor lamp - which was black and red (see below) and I spray painted the base with a chrome silver paint - then I just switched the lamp shade to this light blue one I had in the bedroom!

Old Lamp - grainy pic

I took the side tables and spray painted them with the same chrome paint and tacked two flat mirrors to the top. I put a few of my favorite things on top =)

My table decor.

The only thing I purchased was the yard and a half of fabric I picked up at Jo Ann Fabrics for about twenty bucks. It was a hard decision - there were so many great prints. Luckily, if I get sick of this one - I can go back and get my second choice!

Hope you like - any suggestions or questions please don't hesitate to contact me! I'd love to hear from you!
